How to Use Blind Host Mode
The "Host's Dilemma" is a thing of the past. With Blind Host Mode, you can organize the event, invite your friends, and still play the game without knowing the wines.
1. What is Blind Host Mode?
Normally, the host inputs all the wine details (Grape, Region, Vintage) before the game starts. This means they know the answers.
Blind Host Mode allows you to create a game placeholder without entering any wine details. You tell the app "We are tasting 4 wines", but you don't say what they are yet. This keeps the mystery alive for you, too.
2. Setting Up
When creating a new game, look for the Blind Host Mode toggle in the Game Settings or Rules section.
- Create a new game.
- Enable "Blind Host Mode".
- Set the number of wines you plan to taste (e.g., 3, 4, or 5).

3. The "Bag & Tag" Method
You still need to physically hide the labels. Since you (the host) bought the wine, you know what bottles are in the house. Here is how to forget:

Instructions for your Helper:
- Hand the bottles and numbered bags (1-5) to a helper (spouse, friend, early guest).
- Leave the room or turn your back.
- Have them place bottles randomly into the bags.
- Crucial: They must not tell you which wine is in which bag number!
4. Playing as Host
Once the game starts, you will see the same guessing screen as everyone else.
- Taste Wine 1.
- Make your guesses (Varietal, Region, etc.).
- Submit your answers.
The Reveal: When you are ready to reveal a wine, the app will show "Wine 1" but won't display the details (because you haven't entered them yet!). You can discuss the wine, and then move to the next one.
Note: You will enter the actual wine details (to calculate final scores) after the tasting is finished.
