Wine Party Games
Sitting around and drinking is fun, but adding a game turns a casual hang-out into a memorable event. Here are the best ways to gamify your wine night.
The Blind Tasting Challenge
This is what Vine Savant was built for. It's the ultimate equalizer—when the labels are hidden, the expert and the novice are on equal footing.

- Wrap the bottles: Use foil, paper bags, or socks. Number them 1, 2, 3, 4.
- Pour: Give everyone a small sample of Wine #1.
- Guess: Guests use the app to guess the grape, region, vintage, and price.
- Reveal: Unmask the bottle and see who was right!
The Brown Bag Potluck
Perfect for a budget-friendly party.
- Ask every guest to bring a bottle of their favorite wine under $20, wrapped in a brown paper bag.
- Taste them all and have everyone vote for their favorite.
- Reveal the winner. The person who brought it gets a prize (or just bragging rights).
Sensory Training Jars
Train your nose to identify common wine aromas.
- Setup: Put ingredients in small opaque jars or cups covered with foil (poke holes in the top).
- Ingredients: Lemon zest, vanilla extract, black peppercorns, damp earth, tobacco, leather, berries.
- The Game: Pass the jars around. Guests have to guess what's inside solely by smell. It's harder than it sounds!
Wine Trivia
In between rounds of tasting, throw out some trivia questions.
Sample Questions:
- "What is the most planted grape in the world?" (Cabernet Sauvignon)
- "What country drinks the most wine per person?" (Vatican City!)
- "What is the main grape of Rioja?" (Tempranillo)
Let the games begin.
